The UWI St. Augustine Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Caribbean Urban Forum (CUF) 2022, an output of the project “HIT RESET Caribbean”. The 11th Forum (CUF2022) will be held from the 15th – 17th June 2022 in Barbados in a hybrid form, of both a physical and online presence.

 

In addition to being an output of the project “HIT RESET Caribbean”, this forum is the major annual regional event on urban planning, development, and land management. It will be the main opportunity for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to share experience and knowledge across the Caribbean.

 

As such, CUF is inviting practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to make submissions for this year’s Forum. There is no restriction on the academic or professional background of authors so long as their topic complements the CUF 2022 theme: Beyond COVID: Recovery- Renewable- Resilience.

 

Some areas to be addressed are:

(1) Community Health and Wellness

(2) Climate Change adaption and mitigation 

(3) Waste management

(4) Agricultural/ food security and sovereignty

(5) Sustainable tourism 

(6) Managing marine resources and assets

(7) Investing in renewable energy

(8) Managing our rivers, guts, gullies, and ponds

(9) Leadership, management, and governance systems

(10) Professional planning practice, education, and training in the Caribbean

 

The deadline for submission of proposals/abstracts is  March 28th, 2022.

This project aims to provide support for projects which develop innovations to increase resilience in coastal communities of the Caribbean, as well as strengthen institutions, national and local governments’ ability to leverage information and knowledge for policy amendments.
